Do you have a WordPress blog or website with category pages? I have a Good news for you.
Now you can make your category pages more meaningful and thus increase conversion and optimization.
I am using wordPress for more than five years. But only get this powerful feature after migrating to Genesis Theme.
I am using DailyDishPro theme by StudioPress and have a default option to give ‘Archive Headline’ and ‘Archive intro Text’ in category settings page.
Make Your Category Page Meaningful
Look at these two category pages.
This is the default category page with published posts. Normally in every site category pages look like this. This listing shows all posts in that category in dated order.
Look at the second one. The category headline and description make it more meaningful.
You can use this space for any call to action like email subscription boxes, product sales page, affiliate links, or link to any important pages on your site.
How to Customize the Category Pages
If you are using any of the genesis child themes, just go to posts>> Categories.
Edit each category by clicking the edit button. On that page, you can see Category Archive Settings.
Here you can see two options like Archive Headline and Archive intro text. Give a proper call to action in these boxes and make more conversion.
How to squeeze more out from your Category page
Most of us simply ignore this most powerful page, but people often visit this page for more related topics.
The default category page shows the date wise display of your pots. You can try different options in your category archive settings like
1. A link to the most effective page in that category.
2. Link to most important page in your site.
3. Link to your About page.
4. Include your Email subscription box.
5. Your resource page.
6. Your own product page.
7. Link to any affiliate product you promoted on your site.
8. Just a brief description about that category.
Tell me how you use this option on your site for more conversion.
